Accessible Businesses

The Alliance is working with staff from Will County and the City of Joliet on an ongoing registry of businesses which are currently compliant.  A work in progress, this will offer persons with disabilities a "one stop shop" from which to determine which local public accommodations offer access.

In developing this resource,  persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to contact the coordinating agency of the Alliance with information about local businesses which meet accessibility guidelines.

It takes a team effort to break down barriers, both physical and attitudinal, and we offer "Accessibility Applause" to the private and public partners who can make this happen.  After all, to coin the phrase created by our friends at the Great Lakes ADA and Accessible IT Center:  good access means good business.
